Be hospitable to one another without complaining.
As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another
as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God;
whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies,
so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ,
to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Peter 1 Peter 4:9-11
We all serve according to the gifts bestowed upon us by the Holy Spirit. We are moved to contribute our talents, time and treasure. Once we realize that all we are given is a gift from God, we willingly share it to do our part to ‘Make and Be Disciples’ as urged by Archbishop Coakley.
In order to know the will of God we have to know the ways of God as the Jesus taught us. In prayer we cultivate our hearts to know Him and His will for us. It is also important that we take the time to recognize our charisms, and discern the ways we can use our gifts to share the love of God.
Serving the Parish community and reaching out to the greater community starts a life in Christ that cannot be known otherwise.
