Forgiven:  The  Transforming Power of Confession

forgivenforgiven-class

Is a 6 week series from Augustine Institute.  It will be offered each Sunday evening beginning on February 19th at 6pm in the Parish Center.

Forgiven: The Transforming Power of Confession provides the Church’s teaching about the sacrament of Confession, including a practical “walk through” of what happens in the confessional and how every moment connects to Scripture, Catholic Tradition and God’s passionate desire to be with you.

Sin, guilt, failure, disappointment…these are all an unpleasant but universal reality of the human experience. We all have to deal with them, but we can’t do it alone. The remedy is immediately available and miraculously effective: The Sacrament of Reconciliation. Forgiven explores the grace and healing offered in Confession and shows how this sacrament of mercy reveals the depth and bounty of God’s Love. Classes begin Sunday, Feb. 19, in the Parish Center at 6 p.m. for 6 weeks.

Please contact Nancy Holte at nancy@kingfisher.church for Registration/Information.

Discipleship

Since 2014, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City has been slowly establishing a small-group discipleship experience for adults, using materials created by Catholic Christian Outreach.  The videos will explain how this process is rooted in the vision established by Archbishop Paul Coakley in his pastoral letter, Go Make Disciples.  The first video, Creating a Culture of Intentional Discipleship in the Catholic Parish, describes the process, and then offers several testimonies from people who have gone through it.

The second video is entitled The Game Plan.  It situates the adult discipleship process into the context of a simple “game plan” or “roadmap” that can be useful for any parish that is trying to align its various formational ministries with the vision imparted in the pastoral letter, and in keeping with the guidance of the General Directory of Catechesis.  [*This video is still in production, and will be posted here shortly.]

The other videos are more complete testimonies of participants, leaders, and pastors who have seen the effect of this process unfolding in their parish.
