PARENT COMMUNICATION
with the school is very important and is always encouraged. As we
begin this new school year we request that if at anytime you, the
parent, have a classroom concern that you first address that concern
with the teacher. If you do not feel that your concern is resolved
satisfactorily, please contact Mrs. Jacobs. If, at that point, you
are still not satisfied you should formally request to speak to a
School Advisory Council member. The member will then present your
concern to the School Advisory Council for discussion. Please be
advised that members of the School Advisory Council can only act on
matters presented to them when they meet as a group.
TENNIS SHOES
with white soles should be worn by all students during P.E. class.
If your student doesn’t wear tennis shoes to school on a regular
basis, it would be ideal if you could send a pair of tennis shoes to
school that can be left here. This is not only a safety issue for
the students but it will also help protect our gym floor.
RESPONSE FORMS
– We will send any unfinished or other needed response sheets home
with the students with the monthly billing next week. Please fill
everything out and return it to school. If you have already sent
the forms in to the office, thank you very much!
TUTORING
will begin on Tuesday, September 7th. Tutoring offered:
-
Math with Mrs. Sanders: Monday, 3:30-5 p.m.; Wednesday and
Friday, 7:30-8:00 a.m.
-
Reading with Mrs. Eaton: Monday and Tuesday, 7:30-8:00 a.m. and
3:30-4:30 p.m.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
– Our teachers meet every Wednesday right after school. We would
like to know if anyone is interested in helping us cover extended
care for one (1) hour on Wednesdays so that all teachers can attend
the meetings. Also, we will need four (4) substitutes for half days
on October 5th and February 8th. Check your
calendar and let us know if you can help. Thank you.
SAVE YOUR BOX TOPS
AND CAMPBELL’S SOUP LABELS
– This year we will have a monthly contest among the classrooms and
individual students. Your child has been given sheets for Box Tops
and labels with directions for both. Please clip and save the
labels to help our school.
INFANT JESUS OF
PRAGUE PRAYER PROGRAM
– This year we are continuing to pray for vocations to the
priesthood. In an effort to involve our school families in our
praying, we have developed the following program. The school has
purchased a statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague and produced a
“week of prayers” to go together with the statue as it travels from
family to family. The statue will be passed from one school family
to the next at our weekly school Masses. Families may sign up
to accept this traveling prayer service by contacting the school
office. Instructions and a prayer binder will accompany the
statue.
GRANDPARENTS’ DAY
CELEBRATION
– On Wednesday, September 8th, we invite our grandparents
and “grandfriends” to join us for the school Mass at 8:30 a.m.
Following Mass, we will have donuts, coffee and juice in the Parish
Hall. After that, be ready to play some games as we will have a
variety of them to entertain our guests. Guided tours of the school
will be available to those who wish to see our facility. Did
you send out your invitations!
AUCTION NEWS
– Plans are under way for this year’s auction. Because this is our
primary fundraiser, we rely on contributions from our school
families. If you haven’t already done so, please send your family’s
donation to the school as soon as possible. If you don’t have an
item or service that you would like to donate, please make a
monetary donation so the auction committee can purchase an item or
service on your behalf. With your help, we can make this year’s
auction a great success! Some of the things the auction proceeds
have supported in the past include: electrical re-wiring of the
school, remodeling the cafeteria, purchasing the school bus, risers
for the music program, bleachers for the gymnasium, and Mimio
technology (similar to smart boards) for the classrooms. Proceeds
from this fundraiser are also used to send the students on
educational field trips. Thank you!!!

those who would normally ride the bus.
-

they will be required to go to extended care so that they are
supervised while on school property.
HUNTER SAFETY CLASS
– This will be held on Saturday, September 18th, in one
of the classrooms. It begins at 8:00 a.m. and they will be finished
around 4:30 p.m. Everyone attending will need to bring a sack
lunch.
MONDAY MORNING TIGER TIME
– The word of the week for September 7-10 is CONTENTMENT…the
experience of satisfaction and being at ease with one’s situation.
Example: I am content with who I am and what I have.” Quote
for the week: “Contentment is not the fulfillment
of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have.”
(Unknown.). Scripture for the week: “Not that I complain of
want; for I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content.
